Limited edition Eddie the Eagle ski, anyone?

The Eddie the Eagle film is on its way, and to honour it Atomic has released a limited edition ARC ski signed by the Eagle himself

As if an all-star Hollywood film about our favourite underdog hero wasn’t enough, now Eddie the Eagle’s old sponsor Atomic has custom designed a ski to celebrate the release of the film.

Inspired by the skis Eddie rode during the 1980s, the skis will be limited to just six models, one for Eddie, and five that will be available to to the public through competitions.

Funnily enough, ski tech has moved on quite a bit since Eddie’s heyday, and despite the retro look, the skis on offer are about as good as they get. In fact, they’re based on Atomic’s latest piste ski, the Redster Xti, a powerful, racing derived ski featuring Full Sidewall, Race Rocker and stable, dampening Power Woodcore. It’s a winning combo, which along with the titanium insert, offers phenomenal edge grip and versatility.

“Atomic and Eddie the Eagle have a longstanding, close relationship and we have worked together on several charity functions so we felt it was only fitting to celebrate the launch of the film and Eddie’s endless support of UK Snowsports with a very special, limited edition ski.” Says Jason Summerfield, Atomic UK
