The Southern Hemisphere winter is going off, and Argentina is a powder paradise

Las Leñas in Argentina saw a metre of fresh snow this weekend. The sun is out after a stormy few days and it’s looking like a veritable powder paradise.

In fact, after a slow start to the season, the South America ski season has shaped up nicely. All of Argentina’s and Chile’s big ski areas are open for business with regular snow throughout July.

Further south in Argentina, Cerro Bayo and Cerro Catedral have picked up 50cm+ of fresh snow this past week, and there’s more in the forecast.
