2023 SIGB Ski Tests

The 2023 ski tests are done and dusted.

Reviews are in from the 10-strong team of Fall Line testers and are working their way through the system. Watch this space…

And until then – a look at the set up in La Clusaz:

Day 4

We go again!

A weather inversion kicks off day four so the team heads high, above the cloud.

Order of the day – Touring skis.

Introducing the Elan Ripstick Tour 94, the Backland XTD 120, the Dynafit Radical 97, and the Backland XTD boots:

Day 3

More skis are skied.

Today we shine a spotlight on the All-Mountain category and ask Völkl about the new Blaze 82 (men’s and women’s) and Dynastar about the M-Cross (men) and E-Cross (women).

Day 2

Day two of the 2023 SIGB ski tests has come and gone and the Fall Line team has been hard at it, testing Piste, All-Mountain, Freeride, Freestyle, Freetouring and Touring skis for Winter 23-24. Take a look below at what we’ve got up to, and head over to our socials for the blow-by-blow.

At the end of day two, we grabbed two new Piste skis – Atomic Cloud series, Rossignol Forza – to give a preview of what’s lined up for Winter 23/24.

The Forza Range is a brand new piste ski all about degrees of angulation. The range starts with a Forza 40° for someone finding the edge of the ski and looking for confidence on the piste. As you crank it carving, progress through the range with 50°, 60° and the Master 70°.

Cloud Q range – new for 2022-23 but so good it’s staying the same for 23-24. It’s a wider body piste ski range, and the idea is it’s for all snow conditions – good for hard packed groomed snow (the conditions we have on testing day 2) but with extra flotation with the wider tip of the ski for when the snow gets softer.

Currently under embargo, but a ski making waves here at the SIGB ski tests is a Salomon piste ski, which we can report back (for now) is massively fun and will update here in a week.

Bring on day three…

DAY 1

The SIGB ski tests kick off to a chilly start in La Clusaz (with temperatures sticking below -7° all day).

The Fall Line team is here in force testing next season’s gear, with 609 skis to take out from Armada, Atomic, Black Crows, Black Diamond, Blizzard, Dynastar, Elan, Faction, Fischer, Head, K2, Line, Movement, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott and Völkl.

And that’s just the skis…
