Matchstick Productions release apocalyptically good trailer for ‘Ruin and Rose’

A journey through a post-apocalyptic land consumed by the sands of endless desert, in search of the forgotten joys of winter…

Forget lengthening nights, if there’s one thing that signals the imminent approach of winter it’s ski movie trailer season! Matchstick Productions, creators of the best ski film ever made (Claim, if you were wondering), have just released the stunning new trailer for their upcoming movie Ruin and Rose.

A surreal future leaves the world without water and consumed by sand: the Big Empty. A group of children survives alone on the edge of the endless desert in the ruin of the now. When a young boy unearths an ancient relic hinting at the lost wonders of winter, he sets off in search of the ghosts that once called the mountains their home.

Ruin and Rose is set in a “a world without water, consumed by sand.” The story follows a young boy on his quest to discover the forgotten joys of winter, and the ghosts that once called the mountains home. With action scenes shot in the Alps, BC, Alaska, Bulgaria and the wind-blasted Namibian desert by an all-star cast, Ruin and Rose is set to be one of the movies of the year, with a creative vision rarely seen in ski films.

Ruin and Rose features Sammy Carlson, Eric Hjorleifson, Cody Townsend, Mark Abma, Markus Eder, Sander Hadley, Russ Henshaw, Sean Jordan, Michelle Parker, Tanner Rainville, Zack Giffin, Lukas Joas, Bene Mayr, Evan McEachran, Ole Pavel, Austin Ross, Fabio Studer and Noah Wallace, filmed in 6K ultra-high-definition. The full film will premiere on 16th September 2016 in Aspen, but you can catch the UK premier on 11 November at the Ham Yard Theatre in London.
