Last year’s Editor’s Pick launched onto our freeride radar with a mind-beltingly unforgettable performance, firmly establishing itself as one of our favourite new skis for a long time.

There’s nothing to fix or tweak here (other than the addition of a super-stylin’ new topsheet), so thankfully this winter’s version offers more of the same – aka a punchy, strong ski that’s so much fun we reckon it would even put a smile on the face of Victoria Beckham.

With a titanal Y-Beam shape in the forebody of the ski, full titanal underfoot, and a powerwall, the K2 Mindbender 99 Ti feels immensely powerful and stable underfoot.

The titanal continues down the central spine of the ski into the tail, translating into amazing manoeuvrability around the mountain yet it still feels super composed at speed. “Straight-line it and the 99 Ti feels solid as a rock – then swerve off into the afternoon slushy bumps and that tail slaps and slashes like a park rat” advised Lee.

“Take it out of bounds and it continues to shine, with the shovel giving great float and the softer tail allowing you to scrub off speed easily if the terrain gets a little tight.”
