Blizzard – Sheeva
The Blizzard Sheeva, we all agreed, is an awesome ski; featuring a generous tip and tail rocker for the best control and float in deep snow, and a mega versatile 104mm waist, it’s our women’s powder ski of choice – no contest. But what made it so good was that it was amazingly fun to ski just about anywhere on the mountain: in the park, in fresh snow, in afternoon crud or on early morning groomers. It was light, nippy, easy to control and felt super-smooth absolutely everywhere we took it. Those rockered tips didn’t flap around at high speeds either, which is always a bonus.
Blizzard have introduced women’s-specific construction to their female range this year; they ain’t just the same as the men’s with girlier graphics y’know, they’re actually mega effective and well-designed for women. The Sheeva has a carbon flipcore construction, which means (in short) you’re never forcing this ski to do anything, just asking nicely and seeing instant results, while a new carbon frame has reduced the weight by around 15%. An amazing ski for anything from cutting bootpacks to slaying steeps. Or just cruising the piste if that’s what you fancy.
