A Pyrenees perk for Nevis Range skiers

Nevis Range Mountain Experience, near Fort William in Lochaber, has announced a winter sports partnership with Grandvalira Resorts Andorra, the organisation managing all of Andorra’s ski areas.

What does it mean?

It means that season pass holder from Nevis Range can head to the Andorran Pyrenees for a free ski day and vice versa, with Andorra pass holders given a day on the Scottish slopes.

Earlier this year, the Grandvalira ski area announced an Andorra-wide ski pass for the 2022/23 season. Skiers and snowboarders this winter will be able to access every Andorran ski slope on a single lift pass. This includes the ski areas of Grandvalira, Ordino Arcalís and Pal Arinsal.

And now Nevis Range (for a day…).

This comes on the back of the announcement of a two-year commercial partnership with Commencal, the international bike and ski brand based in Andorra. The Nevis Range ethos ‘Adventure All Year’ and culture matches that at the Commencal brand, which also partners with bike parks throughout Europe and North America.

Chris O’Brien, the managing director of Nevis Range, said: “We are delighted to offer this fantastic perk to our loyal season pass holders and to host continental snowsports enthusiasts here in the heart of the highlands! These partnerships are real evidence of the progress that the Nevis Range is making as an international brand promoting adventure and sustainability on a world stage.”

“I am delighted to be partnering with a brand like Commencal who share my obsession with outdoor life and gravity sports,” adds Activities Director at Nevis Range John Sutherland.

“At Nevis Range we take our role in providing the opportunity for athlete development very seriously … [This] could be the difference that turns Nevis Range riders and skiers from great competitors to winners,”

Nevis Range is one of the highest ski resorts in Scotland and has been running snowsport activities for over 30 years. The team prides itself on providing accessible ski lessons to hundreds of local children, as well as being a destination for ski touring in the famous back corries.

The Commencal partnership has many facets from events, staff attire, retail collaboration, sponsored trails, bikes for track builders, patrollers, instructors and the hire fleet, all of which will enhance the Nevis Range experience year-round for guests.

This winter the snowsport instructors and patrollers will be using Commencal skis and snowboards.
