Best Women’s All Mountain (Mostly Offpiste) Ski 2017/18: Line Pandora 95

The Line Pandora 95 ski wins Fall-Line Skiing magazine's All Mountain: Best for Mostly Offpiste award

The Line Pandora 95 is a super versatile all mountain ski that’ll put a smile all day every day, no matter what the conditions or where you’re skiing

Far more than just a pretty face – though the sunset-inspired graphics are seriously gorgeous – Line’s Pandora 95 definitely knows how to get the party started. Based on their powder hungry bigger sister the Pandora 110 but with a slimmed-down 95mm waist, they’re packed full of freeride performance in a more versatile package that can genuinely be used every day by the more offpiste inclined ladies out there.

Despite their generous surface area the Pandoras aren’t some hefty barge: they feel light, and playful, preferring to skip around the mountain rather than steamroll through everything; more ballet pump than walking boot.

This is largely down to the light weight construction, which seems to lure you into the air at any opportunity. The Pandora’s are built with Line’s ‘Maplelite Macroblock’ construction, with a solid maple wood core underfoot for stability and durability where it matters, feathering into light and springy Aspen wood at the tips for a playful and easy-going nature.

Line have also thinned down the tip and tail to further reduce weight, and added a generous amount of rocker and taper for easy float and hook-free slashes. As you’d expect they’re an absolute hoot in powder, but the real surprise is how easy they make cut up and variable snow.

Where many freeride skis demand to be driven, the Pandora’s simply invite you to have fun, whether that’s exploring off the side of a blue run or chasing couloirs in the backcountry. They certainly put a smile on our face, which is why they’ve earned our ‘All Mountain: Best for Mostly Offpiste’ award.
