With a generous all-terrain rocker profile and tapered tip and tail this ski was designed to glide over anything in its path and takes on powder, crud and slush with the lightest touch.

It was surprisingly agile through narrow chokes and technical steeps for a ski this wide and with a 16m radius it was distinctly more turn-able than other skis in this category. This meant I could get away with a slightly longer length and still feel in control, without the ski wanting to run away from me on long radius turns.

This season the Gottaluvit is built with a sheet of Titanal metal laminate above and below the wood core to give the ski a damp, precise and accurate feel. It certainly felt responsive and despite one tester claiming it had “oodles of buoyancy” we were pleased to find it didn’t collapse when challenged on hard pack underneath the pow.

To summarise, a freeride ski for deeper days and slushy spring lines that devours anything you throw at it.
