Petzl’s 240g Ride ice axe is a super-lightweight classic mountaineering axe that will work well for the majority of ski tours.
The compact 45cm length enables it to be carried inside or outside your pack and the curved shaft, steel head and tapered pick combine to deliver great handling and performance in technical touring terrain.
If you prefer your big mountain adventures on the sharper end of steep then the more technical 280g Gully, with its tapered banana-shaped pick and adjustable Trigrest handle, should be your tool of choice.
