Dynastar – Mythic 97
As a ‘touring quiver of one’ goes it’s hard to imagine a better ski than the Mythic 97. It’s a rare blend of stiffness under the foot to hold an edge in steep exposed terrain, with a soft tip that rides through light fluffy snow and keeps you out of the merde when it gets crusty. The weight-to-performance ratio means they’re great for both long hut touring slogs and charging the lifts at La Grave, but they do ski a little short so size up if in doubt.
