It has a picture of a kitten on it, need we say more? Okay, it’s actually a pretty worthy offering for spring pipe sessions, with a Gore Windstopper lining keeping all but the mightiest of gusts out. Warmth comes from 140g of kitten-soft fleece and Lazy Fingers tech incorporates the natural curve of your hand for improved dexterity.

3. Black Diamond Spark Mitt, £60

These are as hardy as they are warm, built with tough, durable goat leather and Primaloft Gold Insulation. Melting snow doesn’t stand a chance of sneaking in through the BDry insert or the neoprene cuff either, and the mitten style provides the extra warmth you need on the coldest of days.

4. Dakine Galaxy Mitt, £70

Dakine-GALAXYMITT-BLACK

Updated for winter 2015/16, this is one warm mitten, featuring Primaloft insulation
and a 360g wool liner. There’s also a Gore-Tex insert, which is one of the most waterproof/breathable membranes around. It’s thoroughly durable too, thanks to the water-repellent leather palm and shell.

5. Mountain Hardwear Thermostatic, £50

Using Thermal.Q insulation for lightweight, low-bulk warmth, this glove features a conductive fleece palm so you can upload envy-inducing Instagram pics without freezing your digits off. Plus there’s a brushed tricot fleece liner for next-to-skin comfort and quilted ripstop nylon outer.

6. Salomon Native, £85

It’s a mitten with a glove liner inside for extra comfort and warmth. Plus there’s lightweight, breathable Primaloft insulation, a short fur cuff and comfort fit. The high quality leather is durable yet soft to the touch, and there’s a velcro wrist closure for simple fastening on the move.

7. Scott Snw-Tac 40 HP, £45

Scott SNW TAC 40 HP - Women's

The name seems to derive from early noughties’ text speak but the glove itself is thoroughly up to date thanks to conductive fingertips that make smaprtphone use a cinch. There’s also a large stash pocket with enough room for a heat pack and a ribbed cuff to keep icy snow out if you wipe out, as well as a leash.
