As record snowfalls strike across the Haute-Tarentaise the lucky folk at Document are there to mop it up
(15th December 2008) After a gruelling 18 hour drive out to the Dragon Lodge in Tignes, Document and the UK Endeavor Team have been treated to some choice weather conditions rocking, very specifically, The Tignes and Val D'Isere regions. Apparently the snow hasn't yet reached nearby resorts of Les Arcs or La Plagne but the metre or so of snow that fell in Tignes on Sunday 14th December was so heavy and sudden it forced massive resort closure, and even caused small areas to be evacuated. Not ones to shun a splash of powder Document and the Dragon Lodge crew have been making hay in these blizzard conditions enjoying jumping from the roof of every available and sinking below are heads in snow. A prelimenery avalanche talk from Val D'Isere's Henry and Roddy seems very apt give the current conditions. The recent snowfalls ferment this as one of the best season openings on record and local hand Will Hughes reckons that, should he be going home tomorrow, the month he has just spent in Tignes would rate this season as one of his best ever!
