This unique freestyle snowboard & ski event is expecting large numbers of riders from all over the country to be battling it out for some of the biggest prizes ever to be handed out a UK snowsports event.
The Grom Games on Saturday 17th April will run a 2.5 hour jam session for all levels and ages of Freestylers to impress the judges. If they succeed at this they might get the chance to compete against some of the biggest name pro riders in the evening invitational event which is sure to showcase some of the best freestyle riding ever to be seen in Britain! Already British Slopestyle champions Jamie Nicholls, James Woods and Katie Summerhayes have confirmed their places for the evening invitational event! Also attending, as one of the snowboard judges, is the 3 times X Games Gold medalist Jenny Jones who will be checking out all the up and coming talent from the UK snowboard scene.
There are four different age categories, under 12s, 13-17s, 18-24s, 25 and over, for skiers and snowboarders, male and female so there are lots of prizes up for grabs from all the sponsors, which include Oakley, Salomon Freeski, Salomon Snowboard, Skullcandy, Baw Bags, Subvert & Snow & Rock.
Don’t forget it’s totally free to come along and cheer on the riders so even if you don't want to compete yourself, you can still get involved in all the action. Then, once the action has finished on the slope, there will be a Red Bull after party in Chilli’s bar for everyone.
This event is only £30 per person which will include your 2.5 hour Jam session and, if you impress the judges, the chance to compete against the UK’s best in the evening invitational!
Be sure to book your place as soon as possible as there are only 70 places for ski and 70 for snowboard. The ski event is booking up faster than the snowboard spots, so just a quick reminder that although this event is under the ‘Grom’ banner it’s for you snowboarders too!
You can book your place at the Grom Games now by visiting www.chillfactore.com or calling 0161 749 2222.
