Midlothian Snowsports Centre (formerly Hillend Ski Centre ) under threat

On the 6th February 2010, an article in the Scotsman Newspaper stated that due to a funding gap of £500,000 Midlothian Snowsports Centre may be closed at the end of March.

This facility has existed for nearly 50 years and is one of the largest artificial ski slopes in the world. If closed, not only would it prevent many people from learning to or enjoying skiing and snowboarding but may also mean the end of racing associations. British Ski Team members such as Alain Baxter trained at Hillend. We need to stop the closure - we cannot stop the heart of Scottish skiing!
