A new model of goggle from the German sportswear giants comes in the shape of the ID2 Pure, a rounded-off, slightly less aggressive version of the ID2. Underneath the rounded off shape it uses the same design as the ID2 with independently moving frame and surround.
On the ID2 front, Adidas have created a special design solely for the British Olympic team out in Vancouver. Put out as a competition on the talenthouse.com creative community website, entries came from across the globe with the winner’s taking a share of a $20,000 prize purse. There were talks of making the goggle into a strictly limited edition model for sale in key shops. We’ll let you know when we do.

The Modulator photo reactive lens has been refined for 2011, and put into the Quasar in a more optically correct spherical design. Equalizer lens technology is also jammed in there too, with a small Gore-Tex patch used to vent between the two lenses.

The real attention grabbing pieces over at Dragon come from their pro collaborations. From the world of ski, TJ Schiller has paid homage to his favourite show back in the day on his special edition Rogue. It’s The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air in case you couldn't spot it.

From the world of snowboarding, The Pirates crew have a signature version of the DX.
There’s not heaps of technical innovation from the goggle giants this year, instead expect more from their signature ranges of goggles and outwear. Both Simon Dumont and Tanner Hall from the ski team have jacket and pant outfits to go along with their signature goggles.

On the snowboard side Eero Ettala and Gretchen Bleiler are the ones to look out for.
