It’s a traditional Arabic greeting that translates as, “Peace be upon you”, and serves as a reminder that climbing Savage Mountain, is not just a quest up the world’s second highest moutain but also an exploration to a totally different world. Travelling in the truest sense of the word.
So where and what is K2? 8,611m of rock squatting on the border of China and Pakistan, part of the Karakoram Range. Did you wonder why it is infamously nicknamed ‘Savage Mountain’? If you reach the summit there’s a one in four chance you won’t live to tell your mum about it.
