The inscription on the sundial of the Val-d'Illiez bell tower sets the tone with carpe diem (seize the day).
This resort is kind of a three-in-one deal, but as they all come under the same local authority, they’re presented as a united front.
Champoussin is a small purpose-built ski station built in tasteful Swiss 'giant chalet' style, making it look much older than it is, and most of the resort life is centred around the Residence Royal Alpage Club, one of the few après options. And as you ski on the sunny slopes, with the Dents du Midi straight ahead, you can pop over to
Les Crosets, which is famed for its snowpark. The park boasts lines for beginners, female specific, intermediates and pros, so you’ll be kept busy no matter what your standard. Located at 1668m (5472ft), it has excellent snow conditions and a superfast connection with France on the Pointe des Mossettes lift (2277m/7470ft).
Meanwhile, Val-d'Illiez at 950m (3116ft), you’ll find a village full of the rustic charm of an alpine village, with the convenience of quick and easy access to the slopes. Val d’Illiez is also famed for its thermal baths, which offer the perfect therapy for body that’s spent a long day on the slopes.
