La Chapelle d’Abondance – Les Portes du Soleil

Tucked along the Abondance Valley

Tucked along the Abondance Valley between Abondance and Chatel,La Chapelle d'Abondance is a genuinely charming small village which is a bit dinky in terms of runs but it feeds into the North side of Torgon and then Chatel.

La Chapelle is also home to The Grand Odyssey Savoy Mont Blanc Husky Race – worth a watch if you’re anywhere in the PDS when it’s on.

The top lift on the south face here is at 1698m (5570ft), and the area served by a mixture of chair and drag lifts. The majority of terrain is suitable for beginners and intermediates, but there are a few blacks as well as off-piste and, because it’s a bit lower, some fun tree runs.
