Skiing and Snowboarding. It’s a rivalry as old as time itself (well, assuming time began in 1965 that is) but while we wont go claiming one is better than the other –  we like to stay strictly PC in this office – we can tell you which sport is more injury prone.
 

Nevis Range puts Backcountry Safety first

Those good old people up at the Nevis Range are always thinking of their skiers. So much so that they’ve opened a new Transciever Park. The area, just above the Alpha tow, is a minefield of transmitting units perfect for practicing your search and rescue skills to your heart's content. There’s even a probing section full of “buried items” (we don’t know what these are, but we like to think they’re treasure) so you can refine your probing technique.

Winter X Games 2012 hits Aspen

The likes of Jossi Wells and Shaun White have descended upon snowy Aspen to battle it out in the most epic of snowsport competitions: the Winter X Games. The five day-comp sees skiers and boarders compete in SuperPipe, Slopestyle, Freestyle and Big Air as well as Skier X and Snowboard X. Snowboarding supremo Shaun White is hoping to add a fifth SuperPipe Gold to his never-ending display of medals while Britain’s amazing (and we're not even being biased) Zoe Gillings will give it her best in the Women's.
