Construction:
Wood core sandwich, metal, partial cap
Last year's Freeride Ski of the Year has a very slight tech change with a protected sidewall - they call it mini-cap, but it isn't cap construction. Otherwise, we found it just as good as last year. Strong, powerful and superb in fresh snow, crud and on piste. Try shifting the Schizofrantic mounting around - half our testers liked it centre-mounted and the rest wanted it set back. This is a strong, super-effective freeride tool which can really open up a slope. We love the tweaks which make a big ski work so well everywhere, the adjustable binding and the flexibility. The Kiku is the female version, and equally highly rated.
