The tech bit includes a stiffish construction, rocker in the nose and and that fancy sidecut; essentially the fattest bit is some way down the nose and tail allowing narrower and therefore lighter ends. Rocker works on freestyle skis in two ways- increasing the maneouverability of fatter skis and allowing easier recovery from off-straight landings because the tip is less likely to grab and unbalance you.
