SCARPA
GEA W £400
The new boy on the block replacing the Spirit 4, the Gea (or Maestrale in the men's version) has taken all the good bits of the Spirit4 and added new stuff.
Rob from Mountain Spirit says: "My wife and I demoed this boot last season and loved them. A very light shell would generally mean softer flex but not in this case. By changing the tongue arrangement and creating more of a wrap around fit it stiffens the forward flex massively, but don't let the rigidity of the boot frighten you buy thinking that the tour mode of the boot is compromised this boot , it has such a range of movement in it that I could actually point my toe flat to the ground in them.
The asymmetric toe box arrangement means basically that your big toe has plenty of room and your small toe has just enough giving the fit you would expect from a race boot, but with all the comfort you need to tour all day long."
